01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Meat sizzles gently over the grill, letting its fat drip away as the rich aroma of savory sauce rises to spark the appetite. Tucked away in Edogawa Ward's Shinozakimachi neighborhood, Mirakuen preserves the warm, unpretentious atmosphere of a Showa-era yakiniku parlor, greeting diners with welcoming hospitality.
The highlight of the menu is its generous selection of variety meats, including horumon (beef offal) and tender liver. Meticulously prepared, the horumon releases deep savoriness with every chew, making it a natural match for chilled draft beer and other drinks. Classic cuts like tongue, cartilage, loin, and short rib are also available, served either simply with salt or tossed in the shop's rich signature sauce.
Between grill rounds or as a comforting finish, diners often order raw omasum tripe (senmai sashi) or warm up with spicy, nourishing bowls of taegutang kuppa (beef-and-vegetable soup over rice) and taegutang noodles. Mirakuen opens in the late afternoon from Friday to Sunday, providing a cozy setting around dining tables for a leisurely dinner. Seating is limited and payment is cash only, so arriving earlier in the evening is recommended on busy weekends.
